Megan & Olav
The Drury Buildings

“So fun, exciting & full of love! We can't stop smiling, it brought back all the feelings.”

Megan (from Ireland) & Olav (from Holland) had a distinctly urban wedding. It featured a Humanist ceremony in Dublin’s City Hall, drinks and pastries at Street 66, a vintage bus tour of Dublin and a reception at The Drury Buildings.

A smooth start to the day was brutally ended when a hapless Olav had both his hands handcuffed together by a rogue guest. The guest had cunningly used the couple's handfasting ceremony as a pretext to launch the attack. Fortunately, a key to the cuffs was found and Olav was free to enjoy the rest of his day. Following some drinking lessons from the Dutch contingent at Street 66, everyone hopped on a vintage bus for a tour through the couple's old haunts. The Drury Buildings hosted everyone for the dinner and speeches. A surprise personal video message from wrestling superstar Ric Flair had many in tears. As did an unforgettable rendition of The Rattlin' Bog by Megan's friend. The Dutch were speechless. It was the Irish's turn to be speechless when Olav's childhood school teacher performed a reality-shattering, 23 minute, improvised puppet show.

Music aficionados (check out Olav's playlists here), Megan and Olav had disco, funk and soul classics banging all night long - to the crowd's delight.

If you'd like to see another wedding from Dublin, here's Kate & Ed's wedding at Medley (this pair also had their Humanist ceremony at the City Hall). For another city wedding, there's Ursula and Jonathan's cinematic ceremony at the Queen's Film Theatre, Belfast.
